Nick Means

Vice President

Nicolas Means was born in Thomasville, NC and graduated from Thomasville High School where he
played football, basketball and baseball. He earned a football scholarship to Catawba College where he
played from 1999-2002 and graduated Cum Laude in 2003 where he majored in Business Administration
with a concentration in Information Systems. Nick, as he is referred to by most, was inducted into the
Catawba Sports Hall of Fame in April of 2014. He works for F&M Bank where he is the Community
Banking Officer and Vice President. Nick also is an assistant basketball and football coach at North
Rowan High School. Nick serves on a number of boards for Non Profit organizations in Rowan County.
He is the Chairman of the Rowan County Leadership Rowan Steering Committee, Treasurer for the
Blanche and Julian Robertson Family Foundation, serves on the Catawba College Board of Trustees and
is a founding member of CBAN, the Catawba Black Alumni Network where he serves as President. He is
also is a founding member of the North Carolina Banker’s Associations Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Council where he now serves on the Advisory Council. That opportunity led to him also becoming a
founding member of the American Bankers Association’s Black Banker Employee Resource Group where
he works with bankers across the country to provide resources and education to the communities in
which they serve. Nick is also a 2023 Graduate of the North Carolina Banker’s Association’s Senior
Leadership Development Institute. Nick lives in Salisbury and has 2 kids William Reese and Kristina
Means.
